Kampong Phluk, Cambodia
A small fishing village with around 3,000 inhabitants on the most stocked Tonle Sap lake in Asia. Kampong Phluk in translation means Village of Fangs, located by the river, which is one of the tributaries of the Mekong. In the rainy season, the water level sometimes rises by several meters and floods the village, therefore the houses are set on high stilts. Despite the extreme poverty, residents cope in such conditions, there is a school, a temple, a police station. They work to repair nets, boats, smokes, trade fish, collect firewood, sometimes sit idle and talk to each other.
